All parents with students grades 6-12 will now received a notification every other week, starting September 10, that grade books in Infinite Campus are updated. This will continue at the end of the school day on every other Friday.
The Infinite Campus system also has a new feature which automatically send an email notification when your child has a missing assignment.
Please contact your school office to request an account. If your child is just starting sixth grade, teachers are in the process of distributing account information to both students and their parents, as this is the grade level when Infinite Campus is first introduced.
If your child will be five years old on or before September 15, 2011, he/she will be eligible to start kindergarten. To begin the 2011-12 enrollment process fill out the on-line form. Filling out this form will save your child's spot on the 2011-12 kindergarten class list, but you will still need to complete the registration process at your school.
If you prefer, you may contact your neighborhood school to have your child’s name placed on the 2011-12 kindergarten class list. PLEASE DO NOT fill out an online form if you have already contacted your neighborhood school and given them your student's information.
If you are not sure which school your child should attend (based on your address), please use check the elementary school boundary map, or call the Office of School Community Relations at (515) 633-5023.

Valley Southwoods Freshman High School's halls and forum filled the first day of school as students viewed their schedules and found their classrooms for the first time.

Valley Southwoods Freshman High School opened in the fall of 1997 to serve students in their first year of high school in an interdisciplinary team setting. Students begin the year with a "fresh start" and learn habits to help them succeed in their first year of high school and beyond.

Students get to know each other and their teachers well, they have varied opportunities to practice leadership, and they are encouraged to participate in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.
